• Magnesium and potassium supplementation is contraindicated in those with renal failure.
Drug interactions
• Beneficial interactions may be seen with people taking blood pressure reduction medication and
calcium-channel blockers. This will need to be checked by a healthcare professional.
Potassium should not be taken alongside beta-blockers

medication) or angiotensin receptor blocker drugs which all increase blood potassium levels.
Should be taken away from fluoroquinolone or tetracycline antibiotics as magnesium impacts
absorption.
