Green Journey

By: Wellness Warehouse

Sharing Wellness
Our Commitment to Community & Sustainability

At Wellness Warehouse, our purpose is to enable individual health journeys that contribute to the collective wellness of people and planet.

As South Africa’s leading health and wellness omnichannel retailer, we are embedding sustainability across our business and supply chain, going beyond compliance to create lasting positive impact.

Our Approach is Guided by Five Core Themes

  • Sustainable Distribution: Transitioning our distribution hub off-grid and towards zero-carbon logistics and recycling
  • Circular Retail: Designing stores using sustainable materials and operating with waste, water, and carbon reduction in mind
  • Responsible Consumption: Empowering customers to make conscious, ethical choices through our products and educational resources
  • Inclusive Communities: Supporting community upliftment and environmental regeneration through partnerships and dedicated resources

These initiatives are driven internally with allocated resources; progress tracking; reporting at board and stakeholder level; and continuous collaboration that drives innovation and employee engagement.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

We are aligned with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with particular emphasis on the following:

  • SDG 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
  • SDG 8: Promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all
  • SDG 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
  • SDG 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
  • SDG 15: Protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss

Partnerships

We acknowledge that sustainable change is only possible through aligned partnerships within an ecosystem of shared vision and business virtues. Our key environmental and social partnerships include, and are not limited to, the following organisations:

  • Greenpop (NPC/NGO) since 2020
  • Relate Bracelets (NPO) and The Counselling Hub - a project of the SACAP Foundation (NPO) - since 2024
  • Ywaste since 2023
  • Organics Recycling Association of South Africa (ORASA) since 2025
  • Polyco (NPC) and The Glass Recycling Company (TGRC) (NPC) Producer Responsibility Organisation memberships as part of our Extended Producer Responsibilities (EPR)

We recognise that achieving true circularity is a journey that requires bold action, innovation, and transparency. While the path may not always be linear, our commitment remains clear: to regenerate, replenish, and help both people and planet thrive.
